Adventure Fitness: Thinking outside the box

by

A 45-minute spin class. 30 minutes on the treadmill. A few rounds of lifting weights. These common workouts take place within the confines of a gym or fitness studio, and they can become monotonous. What can you do to keep a workout new and exciting? Heather Leo had the same question. And now, exciting and adventurous fitness programs are how she makes a living.

Heather and her husband Will are the owners of IndyBalance. The local couple have built not only a company but a lifestyle. They believe whole-heartedly that life begins at the end of your comfort zone – that motto carries into every aspect of their lives, including fitness. They take on everything from yoga to Stand-Up Paddle Boarding, Slack-lining, Indo Boarding, acrobatics and more. And now you can find adventure fitness programs at the Monon Community Center.
